Buruntuma

Coined as a modern times Griot, a group originally from West Africa that had the mission to preserve and transmit the history, poems and music of their people, Buruntuma is already a well-established name in the Portuguese Afro House scene that has been making waves across Europe.

Traditional music from his native Guinea-Bissau is one of his central elements, alongside with the flavoured West African sounds and the ones from the suburbs of Lisbon.

Renowned clubs such as Gretchen (Berlin), Djoon (Paris), Bootshaus (Cologne), Bird (Rotterdam), Lick (Vilamoura), Pacha (Ofir), Pedra do Couto (Santo Tirso), and festivals as AME (Santiago), Fusion (Larz), African Nouveau Womex (Las Palmas), have been part of this musical journey.

Buruntuma has been showcasing not only his unique sound and skills, but also aims to spread a positive and uplifting image of his rich and diverse roots.
